Information about the research stay
Contents of the stay: | HPS+ is a two-year Master's Programme. In the third semester, the students can choose between two modules, a practical module ("Praxismodul") and a research module ("Forschungsmodul"). When they chose the latter, they can apply for a semester abroad at our partner programme "History and Philosophy of Science" at the Faculty of Science at Utrecht University. During their time abroad, they have the possibility to deepen one of the four contentual pillars of HPS+: Knowledge and Method, History and Society, Culture and Communicating, Responsibility and Application. |

Requirements: | Study phase: Master / 3rd Semester Knowledge / Skills: In order to do a semester abroad at our partner programme in Utrecht, you must have successfully completed the first two semesters of HPS+, i.e. all three compulsory modules and three out of four compulsory voting modules. Language: All courses of Utrecht's HPS programme are held in English. The English proficiency of exchange students must meet at least B2 (Bachelor's students level) and C1 (Master's students level) CEFR. Courses in Dutch language are not included in an exchange semester. Transfer of study credits : | Transfer of study credits in the degree program(s): Due to a cooperation agreement between Utrecht's and Bochum's respective HPS programmes, all ECTS achieved abroad will be acknowledged within HPS+. In order to complete the research module successfully, you have to achieve 30 ECTS during your stay at Utrecht. Previously, you will develop a study plan for your time abroad together with your research coordinator, so that allowability will be guaranteed. Transfer of ECTS: A full-time student takes 30 ECTS credits per semester. All courses are accredited and credit transfer is possible. Funding modalities: | There does exist an ERASMUS-Agreement between Utrecht University and Ruhr University Bochum. If you plan on enrolling as a student, please note that the application deadline always is 1 March at the International Office. If you plan on applying for Erasmus Traineeship Funding (which is 100 Euros higher than Erasmus student funding), you should apply at least one month before your traineeship starts at the International Office.
